The autumn of 1939 in Tokyo. Its amazing to look back at photos from yesteryear. You know that the story of their life is waiting to be told but you also know the ending. You know that looking into this photo taken in Tokyo in 1939 that the next ten to fifteen years is going to bring this family incredible hardships. You know that they are going to be judged by the outside world for the next quarter of a century at least for being Japanese. You know that they might not survive the fire bombing that will occur within a few years time.

What you dont know is that this lady, Sadako has just arrived from Hiroshima with her family of 5 children. These are the youngest two. Stayed tuned for more about Sadakos life at kimonobox.
