Gundam Auction, Odaiba

Do you have $25 thousand dollars and a head for heights? If so, you have just missed out on the once in a lifetime chance to stand on the shoulders of the 1/1 Gundam robot that is standing in Odaiba, Tokyo, Japan. There were 504 bids, but only one winner.

The winning bidder today successfully won the right to stand on top of Gundam’s shoulder and have an official photo taken by a professional photographer. Sounds quite an occasion!

This is how high he stands – as large as the Nikko Hotel.

This is all in aid of some fundraising for the Tokyo Olympic bid 2016. The ceremony will also involve the pinning of a sticker with the logo for the Tokyo bid on Gundams shoulder. It is certainly a creative way to involve community support and fund raise for the Tokyo2016 bid. Well done to the Green Tokyo Project.
