You know you are in Japan

Off to do the Grocery Shopping

My kids always knew they were in Japan when they were collected on bicycle from school. They loved it!
Photo enclosed is that of child number 3 on the back of the bike ridden by Obaachan. What amazes now is how much work was involved in steadying kid on the back of the bicycle and the groceries on the front. It was a full workout! How did I do it?

I made this post after reading Ampontans site – Japan from the inside out. Ampontan unearthed a collection of sentences gathered by a German member of a Tokyo-based English -language message board club. The collection of sentences actually answered the question you know when you have been in Japan too long when …. and some of the answers are very funny. Its a great list. My own response is – you know when you have been in Japan too long when you look for lunch at 12.00 midday on the dot and join a queue for ramen.
