Scientific research in space continues to make new breakthroughs and discoveries. And it is exciting to keep up with the latest happenings, via news reports and official photography courtesy of NASA.
I was recently interested in the story of Japanese astronaut, Koichi Wakata. After his short space sojurn this year, it was announced that Wakata had worn specially designed underwear and other clothing for two months without changing.
Back here on earth – follow up experiments on the underwear will center on odor, water absorbtion and degrees of insulation and ability to dry quickly.
I am lost for words as to the lengths science is going to help us keep improving our standards of living! The wonders of space!! Thank you Koichi Wakata. Space will continue to be a mystery to me !!
For more details on the special underware designs called J-Ware have a look at this article from New Frontier News.

RT @KimonoBox: Are we looking at High-tech underpants? | Japan http://bt.io/4y0 I’ve said it before, only from Japan.
It really amazes me on how the Japanes always seem to come up with solutions for everything. It seams like over here it’s more time consuming, and wait for gov’t approval on things. But clothes like this is one of the best i’ve heard about in a long time. 2 months of not changing, that you’ve got to wonder about. Then i checked out the New frontier website and saw a wearable toilet lol:) when full hook up to dumping station and away it goes. Space is not the Final Frontier…”To Infinity And Beyond!”
