J-Pop is catching on around the world!
Japanese popular culture is drawing in more and more foreigners with its appeal!
San Francisco has just opened a commercial complex dedicated to J-Pop!
This commerical complex involves a three story building selling books and toys, DVDS and clothing that is influenced by Japanese popular culture. Of course the clothing includes the highly popular Lolita fashion brand. This has delighted many fans and has resulted in large queues – gosh, so Japan is not the only country with huge queues now!
Such a successful opening prompted the suggestion that a “J-Pop Day,” celebrating all things associated with Japanese popular culture, needs to be put into place!
Sounds like a great holiday to me! When do we start celebrating J-Pop Day?
Sounds to me like J-Pop Day could be a day of good Japanese anime DVDs. If so, Tim Maughan Books has some great suggestions.
