The other day, I put out a post on crafty ways that the sushi concept is currently being re-created and photographed online.
The post showed how some people have concocted a felt variation. Others have knitted sushi delights. Some people have made edible sushi sweets.
After the post was published, one reader explained that she was about to crochet a sushi toilet roll holder!
I was pleased to get the feedback and hear that sushi craft is quite popular.
Here is a quick snap from flickr showing what can be done.
This is the website that shows you ‘how to’ crochet a sushi holder for your toilet roll.
I wonder what this lady would have thought about the new sushi craft craze!
She is photographed mending her clothing rather than coming up with innovative designs.
Innovation is good but it is also nice to find these snaps reminding us about the pace of life and priorities that were upheld over a hundred years ago.
Click through on the photos themselves to find great flickr streams and more snaps about Japan.

My grand mother used to make those. She’d put animal designs.

My grand mother used to make those. She’d put animal designs on them. Never heard of sushi way back then.
RT @KimonoBox: Play-Doh, Sushi Nendo | Japan http://bt.io/DxC A great toy, for all these years, and the different themes used. Looks great:)
I wonder if that type of playset would sell over here? It looks good enough to eat.
