Hatoyama, 2016 Bid

Applicant City Tokyo October 2nd 2009

A couple of hours from now and the decision on the Olympic Venue for 2016 will be made by the IOC.

Tokyo has made the second presentation with the emphasis on emotion!

I wonder if this has made a difference?
Presenters even promised to teach visitors to the Tokyo Games karaoke!! Nice touch there!
Whatever the outcome, I am sure that the bid has helped highlight Tokyo’s international profile.

Japan has previously hosted the Summer Olympics in 1964 in Tokyo and Winter Games at Sapporo in 1972 and Nagano in 1998. But Tokyo is hoping that with the largest metropolitan budget in the world—its’ economic might, will be a safe bet for the IOC members.

I would have loved to have travelled to Denmark to be part of the excitement tonight!!
Who would you have voted for if you had been on the IOC selection panel?

What did you think of the proposal for the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo to use solar power?

Take a look at the artist’s impression of the proposed stadium in Tokyo if the bid is successful in a few hours time!
