Global Club

Over the years I have flown JAL I have really enjoyed the small gifts that they have sent as appreciation for long term patronage.

I have had luggage tags, wallets and CD’s etc. Has anyone else had these types of gifts of appreciation?

I also got a card the other day to express JAL’s deepest appreciation for flying with them. It was nice to be remembered by my airline of choice!! (warm fuzzy feelings)

But as we head into a new era of airline profitability, I wonder how this policy to reward customers will be effected.

Already I am having trouble using my accumulated airline points. There are not enough seats allocated to mileage club members and waitlisting on points seems fraught with difficulties.
(I dont seem to have advanced in the queue and I have been waiting since August for a December flight!)

I wonder if anyone else has issues using their points? What about the global club? Anyone else have fond memories of their JAL souvenirs? Do you think these are a thing of the past now?
