We have had an afternoon of craft. It has involved a lot of paper cutting and glue.
Japan is well known for its origami craft work but perhaps not as well known for the great paper glue craft for kids in books called Kirie from Kumon. The Kumon Method is a learning way which helps kids with maths and language and from an early age, these kind of craft projects encourage problem solving and provide a sense of achievement. All good things!
Have you had fun with kirie before?
Our products today were a bear and a turtle…. time for afternoon tea now!

I have seen Kumon schools in Australia, I wonder if I could get hold of some of these books for my 4 year old directly from there? She was sitting with me as I read your post and said “I would love to do what those kids are doing.”
