Yes the mound of noodles with an egg yoke on top is a great description and my family often call them soba cakes! Actually they are far removed from the bland taste of soba and very sweet .... I think you would like them! The sponge is usually totally swamped by cream and piped chestnut and it is a challenge to eat them with finesse ! Well I manage but the kids just dive in !!</description>
