Disney, in Tokyo has been a popular attraction for many years for foreign and local visitors. It first opened in 1983 but was joined by a ‘companion’ park in 2001, Disney Sea. More recently, these parks have celebrated the arrival of ZED, the first permanent Cirque du Soleil production in Japan.
Zed opened last October with a show that follows the main character Zed on a journey of adventure and discovery. As Zed journeys, he discovers that the people of the sky and earth are trying to connect with each other.
Its the stunning act you would expect from a Cirque du Soleil performance. There is lots of aerial acrobatics and amazing strength and flexibility.
And visiting the Zed show is a good way to diversify the trip to Tokyo Disney with another spectrum of the arts.
For the kids, there are a pair of clowns, who host the show. They have the funniest laughs and as a sub-theme keep the audience’s attention piqued.
I enjoyed it so much I think I will have to go back again. Maybe next time I will keep my eyes open during the flying trapeze act!
Take a look at the links to the Cirque du Soleil official website and youtube clips.

The home page for Zed provides and excellent preview to the show, but nothing can beat the atmosphere of the live performance.

Glad to hear that Disneyland tokyo has a Cirque du Soleil attraction. I saw it at Disneyworld in Orlando,Fl. It’s amazing of some of the things they can do. Would really love to be able to see your version of it in person.
Good to hear – yes it is well worth a visit
