<p><!--:en-->Just like any other Sunday, it was relatively quiet day &#8211; apart from the small visit I needed to make to Shinjuku. A quick 20 mins down the Chuo Line, meet up with a friend, pick up some train tickets and purchase some cake for tea.</p>
<dl id="attachment_2283" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 485px"><dt><img src="http://kimonobox.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/IMG_0148-1.JPG" alt="These girls are on alert" title="on alert" width="600" height="533" class="size-full wp-image-2283" /></dt><dd class="wp-caption-text">These girls are on alert</dd></dl>
<p>Of course, as usual Shinjuku Station was busy and a small errand turned into a day&#8217;s event. Just as well when I went to pick up my tickets the girls at the counter were on alert! At least this arm band made me smile!</p>
<p>Over the years, I have taken the shear numbers of people using Shinjuku station for granted. This station is one of the world&#8217;s busiest! It handles around two million passengers each day! That is a staggering number of people running similar errands to mine perhaps?</p>
<p>So with all those people you would expect that the station would suffer from problems with litter&#8230;.. Well, the cleaners must do a good job because it seems relatively clean for that amount of traffic. Ah hah! They have the vacuum cleaner on the job &#8211; so all is good !</p>
<dl id="attachment_2281" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 485px"><dt><img src="http://kimonobox.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/DSC03844-11.JPG" alt="Get the hoover on it!" title="station cleaning" width="600" height="567" class="size-full wp-image-2281" /></dt><dd class="wp-caption-text">Get the hoover on it!</dd></dl>
<p>After a gruelling, epic, marathon walk around the station &#8230;.. Home for tea and cake &#8211; this was good &#8211; sort of like swiss roll without the jam?! Ushi de Can &#8211; Ushi means cow, but what is the can? Has anyone else tried this cake?</p>
<p><dl id="attachment_2284" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 485px"><dt><img src="http://kimonobox.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/IMG_0150-1.JPG" alt="Ushi de Can " title="ushi de can" width="450" height="600" class="size-full wp-image-2284" /></dt><dd class="wp-caption-text">Ushi de Can </dd></dl><br />
<dl id="attachment_2283" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 485px"><dt><img src="http://kimonobox.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/IMG_0148-1.JPG" alt="These girls are on alert" title="on alert" width="600" height="533" class="size-full wp-image-2283" /></dt><dd class="wp-caption-text">最近、警戒on alert　はよく見かけます</dd></dl>
<p>新宿は相変わらず混んでて、買物は大したことないのに一日がかりになった。でもこの女性たちの「on alert」マークを見てちょっと笑った。</p>
<dl id="attachment_2281" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 485px"><dt><img src="http://kimonobox.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/DSC03844-11.JPG" alt="Get the hoover on it!" title="station cleaning" width="600" height="567" class="size-full wp-image-2281" /></dt><dd class="wp-caption-text">警戒も良いし掃除も完璧</dd></dl>
<p><dl id="attachment_2284" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 485px"><dt><img src="http://kimonobox.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/IMG_0150-1.JPG" alt="Ushi de Can " title="ushi de can" width="450" height="600" class="size-full wp-image-2284" /></dt><dd class="wp-caption-text">Ushi de Can </dd></dl><!--:--></p>
